Senate Confirms Panetta As CIA Director

WASHINGTON -- The Senate has confirmed former Rep. Leon Panetta to run the CIA.

Panetta's nomination sailed through the chamber by a voice vote.

The former Democratic congressman from California has no direct intelligence gathering or analysis experience. Obama said he was selected because of his managerial skills and ability to repair the agency's relationship with Congress after two tumultuous Bush terms.

Renditon is legal assuming you give them a chance to be put to trial. Happened to nazi's after WWII. Are you suggesting we shouldn't have done that then? The issue is with how bush/bush clones have been using it.

Tumultuous? Rumsfeld and the CIA were at war!

You think Obama's going to put a civilian in charge of the CIA, after all that's gone down? Then I think you underestimate Mr. Obama.

My theory: Panetta is deep CIA--of the kind you don't hear about, because he doesn't want you to--and way up in the organization. That's why DiFi shut up, after some initial spurts of objection. That's why he sailed through.
