Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is among three Republican governors who refused to rule out a bid for president in 2012.

Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Jindal said he plans to seek re-election in 2011 -- but he would not give a yes-or-no answer when asked if he wants to be president.

Another tight rope is how Jindal talks about Louisiana, which in political terms means how he talks about himself. Jindal said he plans to "share the story of growing our economy," and he talks often of cutting taxes and spending. State general fund spending, however, increased during Jindal's first term in office, with the overall state budget dropping only because of a reduction in federal hurricane recovery aid.

1. Of course Tim Pawlenty is running in 2012

that was one reason he was not in the VP slot. McCain wanted him to actually have a chance in the future. Pawlenty is rarely in the state anymore, recently flew to Israel for a "trade mission", is on all the right wing media outlets like Faux News on a regular basis.

He needs this for his ego ever since Cheney told him to run for governor and chose Norm Coleman for Senator. Pawlenty feels he needs to one-up Norm.

Jindal, Sanford and Pawlenty we've already covered.

It's no secret Palin's running, Goodhair Perry will probably run, and probably Mitch Daniels.

Outside bets: Linda Lingle of Hawaii, and Butch Otter of Idaho. Of all eight, Otter would have the best shot simply because no one knows who (what?) he is.

I had a big ol' bubba at a gas station attack me over my bumper stickers and when I said "Who do you have for 2012? Jindal?" his reply was "Ain't no way we're gonna support him. He ain't American."

I'd love for him to run...
