WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is nearing the end of its probe into Bush administration lawyers who wrote secret memos approving harsh interrogation techniques.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of a letter from the Justice Department informing two members of Congress that a key deadline in the inquiry expired Monday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. Justice Department has told Congress the deadline has passed for Bush administration attorneys who wrote the so-called "torture memos" to respond to a crucial internal investigation of the lawyers' performance.

1. The article goes on to say
that the conclusions of the "probe" were not included in the letter. Hard to guess what they will be.
