Body in Georgia fits description of fugitive professor
Source: The Houston Chronicle and Associated Press

ATHENS, Ga. — Police confirmed Saturday that a body found in north Georgia fits the description of a university professor accused of killing his wife and two other people at a community theater two weeks ago.

Two guns were found with the body, which was purposely hidden by dirt and brush, Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin said. The weapons were consistent with the guns used in the shootings near the University of Georgia in Athens.

Police have said marketing professor George Zinkhan, 57, shot his wife and two others April 25.

“In general, the body fits the description of the individual we are looking for,” Lumpkin said.

The body, discovered 1.3 miles from where Zinkhan’s Jeep was found wrecked and abandoned in a ravine, still needs to be positively identified, Lumpkin said. Police dogs found the body about 10 miles west of Athens in Bogart, where Zinkhan had a home.

6. That SOB had little kids! Didn't know that until your link
where the article mentions that his 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son were waiting for him in parking lot when he shot their mom.
It's not that killing your estranged wife is right otherwise but it seems like if you have little kids no matter how crazy angry you get you restrain yourself.
Glad he didn't kill his kids too but those poor dears. May love surround them

7. What a tragedy..........
On the one hand the fact that he did himself in allows the long journey of healing for the children and others affected by this wanton act of violence to begin.

His children have now lost both parents but are spared the agony of a trial, etc. as well as knowing their father is sitting in prison for life or sentenced to die. Georgia loves to kill their convicts.

I simply cannot understand what would drive a person to this, first killing his ex-wife and two other innocent victims and then himself. It defies my imagination and understanding.

8. Perhaps, nonsense always loses in the end ...
because sanity won in the beginning.
