A series of loud explosions has been reported in the area of a Sun Oil ethylene facility in New Castle County.

Around 10 p.m., Sunday evening neighbors in the Marcus Hook area began report hearing the explosions and claim they can see smoke in the sky.

Since the refinery is along the Pennsylvania, Delaware border, firefighter crews from both New Castle and Delaware Counties are working to extinguish the flames.

Delaware state officials confirm that the fire is contained to the Delaware side of the border and no evacuations have been made in Marcus Hook.
