CIA more popular than Pelosi, poll shows
Source: USA Today

Americans seem to be split on whether the Central Intelligence Agency misled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on waterboarding, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll out this morning.

About 43% of those surveyed say it's at least somewhat likely that Pelosi was lied to about the use of waterboarding -- an interrogation tactic that simulates drowning -- on detainees. Meanwhile, 41% say the CIA likely did not mislead Pelosi, which she accused the agency of last week.

The CIA gets favorable marks from 63% from the public, according to the poll. The Democrat speaker, meanwhile, has a 35% favorable rating.

2. Stupid analogy
I am so sorry that the Repub attack on Pelosi has shifted the argument from "is torture right" to "Dems are responsible"

3. Yeah, but is the Treasury Department more popular than Michelle Bachmann?
Edited on Mon May-18-09 11:20 AM by onehandle
As long as we are polling pointlessly, let's go all the way.

Is the Obama's dog more popular than the Department of Labor?

So many questions, so few brains.

5. Pelosi has permitted even those in her own party to blame her when
unpopular issues arise. She has been used as a pin cushion by
GOP and some in her own party. Naturally, she is not popular.

I never saw the wisdom in such on her part and now it is coming
home to roost. Those who use her to cover their behinds will
surely not come to her side.

Even Chris Matthews did a piece with Nancy this year and he questioned
this. I am used to being blamed.

7. Truth is not a popularity contest. How to solve this? Fire Leon Panetta.
And, have Nancy gracefully step down.

12. That's a large part of the problem.
When * took over he put Goss in charge and purged the CIA, replacing a number of people whose loyalties to Bushco were suspect. When Panetta went in, he did NOT restore the balance and similarly purge those put into place because of their loyalty to Bushco. All of Cheney's 'stay behinds' stayed behind and are still working as a fifth column.

15. ROFL!
The CIA gets portrayed nearly every day in Doonsbury as a bumbling, mild-mannered pack of semi-compentent spies.
