STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Army has temporarily stopped accepting Black Hawk helicopters from Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., citing concerns about the company's assembly line, Sikorsky said Sunday.
The company received notification of the decision last week, but spokesman Matt Broder said Sikorsky expects to resume delivering helicopters sometime this week.
"Their concern is that Sikorsky-manufactured parts are not being installed correctly," Broder said.
The company is slated to deliver about 40 of its signature military helicopters to the Army and Navy this year. If all goes well during military test flights Monday, Broder said, the schedule will resume.
