Record Defense Budget Reflects Wrong Priorities, Experts Charge
WASHINGTON, D.C. Mar 1 (OneWorld) -- The steep increases in U.S. defense budgets under President George W. Bush (news - web sites) have largely failed to strengthen the nation's security since the 9/11 attacks, and the proposed $230 billion fiscal year 2005 budget is no exception, according to a task force of nine national-security experts.

In a new report released Monday, the task force charges that some of the most expensive items in the budget have little or nothing to do with the threats the United States confronts in the world today.

"Currently we are wasting large sums on the wrong forces for the wrong occasions," the report concludes. "It is a mistake to believe that increasing the Pentagon (news - web sites) budget alone will guarantee our safety."

1. Yet another sign ...
That this neocon government hasnt a clue how to govern, other than a rough outline of its own greedy, self centered ideology ...

I bet George Bush's campaign contributors arent complaining about that defense budget, since they are pocketing that budget ...

2. kick
a fifty percent increase in defense spending since the bushies took over - while they worked continuously to cut revenues?

Next time voters want a businessman/president... perhaps they should consider whether someone who ran several businesses into the ground is really the best person to run our country.
