9-11 Panel Schedules Meeting With Clinton/Gore
9-11 Panel Schedules Meeting With Clinton/Gore

By HOPE YEN
The Associated Press
Tuesday, March 2, 2004; 4:09 AM

WASHINGTON - The federal panel reviewing the Sept. 11 attacks has scheduled interviews with former President Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore this month but is struggling to get similar cooperation from President Bush and administration officials.

Members of the bipartisan commission said they were considering a subpoena to force the public testimony of national security adviser Condoleezza Rice. She has declined to appear at the panel's two-day hearing later this month.

<snip>

The 10-member commission also requested private meetings with Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney about what the administration knew before the attacks, potentially a sensitive subject in an election year.

While Clinton and Gore have consented to public questioning without a time constraint, Bush and Cheney have agreed only to private, separate, one-hour meetings with the commission's chairman and vice chairman, instead of the full panel.

2. the contrast works like a great campaign ad
Democratic ex-president and -vice president work with the investigation into one of the most terrible tragedies to hit America ever.

The sitting republican administration boycotts it!

4. I agree. Showing
our criminal in chief against two ACTUAL Presidents ought to say it all. Why doesn't Pravda just come out and say it, "WTF is our regime hiding and what are they so afraid of". These commissions are a joke.

5. Clinton and Gore agreed to testify publicly?
without any time constraint? I can't wait to hear the response from the WH. I bet W is having a hissy fit this morning.

9. You really think he drinks beer?
I had him pegged as more of a hard-liquor alcoholic, not a half-assed beer-in-the-morning kind of drunk. You know, just a nip of gin to get the day started. Besides, Bush is also not a "beer-with-the-guys" kind of drinker, despite his visit to Daytona.

13. See, the Dems are politicizing 9/11 again
unlike the WH who never uses 9/11 for political ends.

8. Oh, sure... Shrub & Crashcart are "cooperating fully..."
...or so they've said. Why, they've even pleaded with Hastert to extend the commission's deadline! Besides, this was all the Clinton Admin's fault!!!!

Okay, back to reality. If the Bush admin is blameless because the Clinton admin did nothing in regards to the security lapses leading up to 9/11, as a slew of RW books charge, then why have Clinton/Gore agreed to a no-holds-barred interview by the commission, and the Bush admin will not?

Rush?

Hannity?

Glenn Beck?

Anyone???

10. Why aren't the talking heads talking about this?
Is it because Ckinton and Gore's cooperation make Bush and Cheney's reluctance look like bullshit!
