'42 000 slaves freed in China'
Beijing - China has published shocking statistics on the trafficking of women and children within its borders, with police freeing 42 215 victims during the two years from 2001, the state press reports.

Over the same period, more than 22 000 suspects were arrested as police cracked 20 360 cases involving kidnapped women and children, many whom were forced into marriages or sexual slavery, Xinhua news agency said.

"The Chinese government and police have placed a lot of importance on protecting the legal rights of women and children," Vice Minister of Public Safety Luo Feng was quoted as saying.

I believe this Government report more than I believe AWOL's recently released Science Report.

1. China's one child per couple policy.....
combined with a preference for baby boys (baby girls are
often killed to make room for a baby boy) was bound to
cause a shortage of women someday. That time has probably
arrived and now there will not be enough women for men
who want brides.

The value of women will probably rise over time, but all
those murdered baby girls have paid a terrible price for
the one child policy.

3. It may seem cruel to you but they are over populated....

their environment and land not able to support more growth. You can have two if you pay. You can have more until you get a son. Girls mean little.

The world population spirals out of control while the religious organizations refuse to address the problems. They want more members of their flock. But it is not good for the earth.

Homeless children roam the earth...unloved, straving, abused, and even shot. The religious organizations that insist families have lots of children should take care of them.

Family planning is the best answer but the religious organizations (and even our own President to give into them) oppose it. You can bet his family used it.

Don't make abortion a issue in this campaign. It's a non-issue with the country divided evenly about it. It is a personal choice right now.
