Eisner will remain as CEO.

That's out of left field.

4. I guess he was on the Board of Directors
already, and somehow got picked.

I think he'll find Northern Ireland was a cakewalk compared to working with Eisner.

6. This Means Eisner has won - and said F U to the shareholders
"Disney Chief Financial Officer Thomas Staggs, 44, told investors at today's meeting that the company can grow faster as a stand-alone company than it would when joined with Comcast.

Roy Disney and Gold also are urging holders to withhold votes for directors George Mitchell, 70, Judith Estrin, 49, and John Bryson, 60. About 24 percent of votes were withheld from Mitchell, about 23 percent from Estrin and about 22 percent from Bryson."

So the Eisner choices are now on the Board and Mitchell will chair - big deal - only means Eisner has better control.

16. Don't be so sure
I've been following this. Eisner is being set up to take the golden parachute leap. I'll be surprised if he lasts out the year.

7. Did they think that since Mitchell negotiated a peace in Northern Ireland
...That he could find a way to negotiate a peace between Disney and Pixar?

Hmm...might not be so easy...Jobs is pretty stubborn once he's pissed off about something...and Eisner pissed him off.

11. Jobs is an arrogant, full of himself CEO
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 09:15 PM by mac2
People complained because Bill Gates didn't do enough for the poor (when he does more than all of them) but have never asked Jobs about his duty to share his wealth. Why is that?

Jobs pissed off about Esiner? Could there be jealously amoung the brotherhood of the royal CEOs?

15. Well, there's the scope of it for one thing
Bill Gates is about 26 times richer than Steve Jobs.

Gates is at the top of the Forbes richest person list, and Jobs is down around #76 somewhere. In addition, he has to work two jobs to get there!

(and yes, Jobs is a world famous jerk...no dispute there...but he is a big contributor to the Democratic Party, and a Friend of Al, so he's okay by me)
