The biggest U.S. food company announced at the end of January that it would cut 6,000 jobs, or 6 percent of its workforce, and close 20 plants worldwide by 2007. In the first quarter of this year, Kraft is laying off 1,300 employees in North America.

The restructuring meant 300 layoffs in Illinois by Feb. 6, with the majority coming from the company's Northfield headquarters and two offices in Glenview, said Donna Sitkiewicz, director of corporate affairs for Kraft North America. The cuts are affecting all levels of the company, including middle- and upper-management, she said.

1. Does executive severance include
coupons for cases of cheesy macaronis to eliminate high inventory and preclude ex-employees/execs from turning to competitor Ramen noodles?

4. Wonder if the executive will apply for unemployment benefits...
it will be hard for them to get by on their
millions already in the bank account.

Poor babies.....what is the world coming to?

6. I have no sympathy for management.
You know they are 99.9% GOP! May they send all mgt jobs to India! HAHAHAHA

I feel sorry for the other people though. It's tough being laid off...you feel like you have done something wrong, somehow. Very depressing. Best thing to do, is become politically active and throw the BASTARDS OUT!
