Thailand to appeal extradition ruling on "Merchant of Death"
Source: Reuters

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thai prosecutors started appeal proceedings on Thursday against a court's rejection of a U.S. request for the extradition of suspected Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.

The United States wants to try Bout, dubbed the "Merchant of Death," on terror charges related to suspected plans to sell arms to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia (FARC).

The decision means Bout, who was arrested in Bangkok in March last year in a Thai-U.S. sting operation, will remain in prison until the Appeal Court decides whether or not to accept the case. If it decides against, he will be released.

"The court received our intention to appeal today. Now we've got 30 days to formally submit our case," Thai prosecutor Sophon Kasempiboonchai told Reuters.

The CIA/FBI also targets Sex Workers in these "Thai-U.S. sting operation", where they get Life sentences in prison or just disappear. This is where Karate star David Carradine was found hanging by the elusive "yellow nylon rope", such as madam Palfrey, Brandi Britton, etc....

2. Sorry but...
As a Canadian, I can probably speak for the vast majority of all the citizens of the rest of the world, when I say that sadly, the United States of America is no longer regarded as a stalwart of justice and an example for human rights. Now every act they initiate, like the one above, is regarded with suspicion. Sad really.

I 'suspect' that this has to do with the Pentagons new "Iraq" in South America, Columbia. They seem to work well with the corrupt right wing government. They are putting in new bases. They want to establish a 'front line' against the new more left leaning governments in South America like Argentina. So its one way of intimidating any anti-government forces in Columbia, a kind of gift to the government for allowing the new bases.
