Lawmaker Sues to Add Paper Trail to Florida's New Voting Machines
Edited on Tue Mar-09-04 12:40 AM by nu_duer
I've seen Kerry comments on Fla and the monitors planning to observe the Fla elections (we are the leader of the free world?), but I haven't seen this story here. Apologies if a dupe.

Wexler -

----
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida congressman sued state election supervisors Monday, demanding that new touchscreen voting machines be made capable of creating a paper trail for possible recounts.

...

Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Kay Clem, president of the Florida State Association of Elections Supervisors, said paper receipts are unnecessary because the machines can print out an audit at the end of an election day.

...

Wexler said the machines have created new problems and violate the U.S. constitution because only some Florida counties can accurately conduct recounts.

...

Klem and Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood are named in the suit.

6. The first judge decided that
Wexler had no cause to bring the suit because of no harm to him, or something like that - even though he is a voter. The actual suit itself was never even heard.
