Music swappers face home invasion
Rampant song swappers could have their homes raided and property seized under an EU law due to be voted on Tuesday.
The new law puts in place tough measures to deal with anyone who flouts intellectual property rights.

Critics say the law is too blunt as it applies the same penalties to both professional counterfeiters and consumers who swap pop songs online.

1. I read in Australia
they're thinking of handing power to do this over to... wait for it... the Aussie equivalent of the RIAA.

Sorry. If the RIAA is goven power to conduct raids here and they do it to me, someone's gonna get seriously hurt. NOBODY who is not law enforcement has the authority to search and seize and I'll us force against those who think they do.

4. That's what needs to happen....
the RIAA needs to pull some kind of attempted SWAT raid, and a few of them need to get justifiably perforated with large-caliber weapons.

They're not a LE agency. I don't care if they're ex-cops. Running around in RIAA "raid jackets" and acting like they're the police (which they're already doing in the US) is unacceptable, and needs to be met with lethal force when appropriate. Put half a dozen of them in body bags, watch the shooter(s) be found to be justified in a court of law, and they'll chill the fuck out. It's kind of hard on the RIAA employees, but they need to be taught a lesson to keep them from violating OUR rights.
