Lt. Gov.'s son wounded in Kent shootings
Source: Seattle PI

A son of Washington Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen was wounded in a shooting at a Kent body shop Monday afternoon.

Mark Owen is in satisfactory condition at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, hospital officials said.

The shooting took place around 2:30 p.m. at KBP & Fabrications Inc. in the 800 block of Fifth Avenue South.

Witnesses said a store manager got into a dispute with the company bookkeeper, since identified as Mark Owen by the lieutenant governor's spokesman, Brian Dirks. Police say the manager pulled out a gun and fired on the bookkeeper, wounding him in the arm and stomach, police said.

Another sacrifice to the tree of liberty.

2. Another successful gun self defense story. Bookkeepers are natural born killers.

On edit: 'Detectives say the manager walked a block and shot himself in the head.'

Guns spawn the problem and provide a resolution.

Is there nothing that guns can't do?

13. Suppose the person shot possessed a gun himself. Would you propose he attempt to draw it
after the other person had drawn a bead on him?

17. Assuming you don't pull a pistol
unless you mean to use it, what has he got to lose? And it might kill two birds with one stone, in a manner of speaking.

18. In this case, the shooting victim survived, and the shooter wandered off to commit suicide: had
the victim tried to pull a gun, it seems entirely possible that the situation would have escalated and the shooter might have shot the victim several more times

You do understand the concept "escalation," don't you?

16. Oh don't worry!

Since the manager used his gun illegally, he's no longer actually counted as a gun owner!

Just like how putting sugar on your oatmeal means you're not a true scotsman!

10. Same here, I thought it was some kind of anniversary - on the same day as the
Berlin crossing.

Why doesn't the NRA ever say or do anything to caution their users about carrying guns when seeth in anger?

Do you ever hear them speak out about rational use of the gun?

This country is all about guns and abortion, lying and stealing, profiting and converting the U.S. to a third level country, and whining about too much government and then send the birthed fetus into war and pulling something like the Stupack Amendment.

I'm sorry for the Owen's.

11. Agreed. D.L. Hugeley stated it perfectly when he was on Bill Maher...
He said that in this country it's all about protecting the "unborn" fetus, but once you're born, you're on your own... :-(

As for guns (and I used to shoot competitively), yeah, "guns don't shoot people, people do..." But way too many "people" seem to be doing it. x(

15. Obviously, I was joking... I'm still up! :D
It's still early for me, too. I worked nights for 15 years, but that's because I prefer it... :-)

I don't do mornings, but tomorrow I have to get up for a funeral. It's going to be a very rough day in more ways than one... x(
