Feds Crackdown On Medicare Fraud In Miami
Source: CBS

Federal agents have arrested several suspects in Miami as part of a Medicare fraud crackdown in three states. More arrests are expected later Tuesday in Miami, Brooklyn and Detroit, all areas that billed Medicare for more than $61 million for bogus medical equipment, unnecessary therapy and HIV infusions in various scams.

The arrests follow an investigation by the Medicare Fraud Strike Force, a partnership between the two federal agencies that started nationally in May. In addition, I-Team Investigator Stephen Stock has been reporting on the rampant Medicare fraud for months.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is expected to hold a press conference in New York later Tuesday to make the announcement.

Cleaning up an estimated $60 billion a year in Medicare fraud will be a key part of President Barack Obama's proposed health care overhaul. Both agencies have promised more money and manpower to fight the fraud. Sixty billion dollars means about $200 dollars in tax dollars paid for every man, woman and child in the United States.

2. Maybe they'll get Jeb Bush for his relationship with Miguel Recarey
Bush has been in the thick of it. Check out this link, or just type Recarey in the Search window.

5. About time!
Those that bilk the government should be hauled in front of Federal Court and given the stiffest sentences if convicted...this goes for ALL fraud, not just Medicare...imagine how much would be saved the military contractors were investigated!

6. They should get as much time as the common thief would for robbing a liquor store
However, we all know that most of these people will never spend a day in prison.
