Weekend peace march plans to draw attention to Iraq war dead
Weekend peace march plans to draw attention to Iraq war dead
By Randall Chase, Associated Press, 3/12/2004 23:17

DOVER, Del. (AP) Peace activists will mark the one-year anniversary of the war in Iraq this weekend with a march on Washington beginning at the site of the military mortuary that accepts U.S. casualties.

Military veterans and members of families who have lost loved ones in the war will join in the memorial procession and rallies outside Dover Air Force Base and the White House.

The Dover base is home to the nation's largest military mortuary, where bodies of U.S. soldiers are processed and prepared for return to their families.

Organizers say the event is meant to honor the dead, draw attention to the thousands of U.S. wounded, and call for an end to the war. The event includes a stop at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, where many of the wounded are hospitalized.

1. 359 days after war began and BUSH still has yet to visit one
solder, over 3000 of them wounded. Where is Mr, Bush on compassion. Obviously, he does not give a flying rats ass about our solders. You know, those EVIL ass excreting Republicans on TV tried to smear wet shit on Hillary over not visiting 911 victims, when all along, she had made several visits and funerals. These people are pure puke. Worse then crack addicts on the street.
