Mercury News Sacramento Bureau

SACRAMENTO - As the controversy over drug use by athletes unfolded in California, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke only sparingly on the subject. But now it has hit home -- at Schwarzenegger's own event in the sport that first made him famous.

At least five federal subpoenas were delivered to bodybuilders at last weekend's Arnold Fitness Weekend in Columbus, Ohio, which the governor has sponsored since 1989.

... The use of steroids in sports is a politically sticky issue for Schwarzenegger. The former Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia may have a hard time ignoring the controversy when President Bush, a fellow Republican, has made it part of his agenda.

... In 1990, not long after President George H.W. Bush appointed Schwarzenegger chair of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the actor said of steroids to USA Today: ``It was new then. There were no laws against it. . . . I felt right away it was not a real thing. I felt something in my system didn't belong there. I quit.''

5. When will you silly Dems understand?
It's never a crime when it's a Repuke who's doing it! It only counts as illegal and immoral activity when a Dem does it. Sheesh, you'd think you guys would have figured out this simple rule by now. :eyes:

10. "I vill alvays be a bodybuilderator!"
"No matter what I do, if it is acting or if it is business or if it is politics," the governor told a crowd of more than 5,000 inside the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Saturday afternoon, "I will always be a bodybuilder."

Proving once again:

You can take the steroid-popping stranger-groping Hitler-fan dork out of the gym, but you can't take the gym out of the steroid-popping stranger-groping Hitler-fan dork.

MOTORISTS WAIT IN LINE IN EFFORT TO GET BEST DEAL

Maybe the RNC and Arnold didn't approve of this story about his use of steroids "when it was legal."

BTW, I seem to recall that Arnold had a heart attack several years ago. It was a serious one, too. Somehow, Arnold doesn't use that fact to warn young athletes about that very common danger from using steroids.

Just another Repub who only cares about himself!

Proud to say I NEVER paid to see an Arnold movie!

11. Actually, it was more than a heart attack...
I heard they had his heart completely out of his body twice repairing it. Major arterial and heart valve damage. Just another coverup.
