Balbir Singh Sodhi was gunned down in Mesa, Ariz., on Sept. 15. The turban-wearing Sikh immigrant was shot and killed outside his Arizona gas station. In Phoenix, a suspect was charged with murder and held on $1 million bail after a shooting rampage in the days after the attack in which he targeted individuals he believed to be Muslim.
Waqar Hasan, 46, a Pakistani, shot to death Sept. 15 in his Dallas, Texas convenience store.
Ali Almansoop was an American, hardworking father of four. He was murdered Sept. 21 at his Detroit, Michigan home. Almansoop was a Yemen native. Prosecutors charged a Garden City man with first-degree murder in his shooting death.
Abdo Ali Ahmed, 51, a Yemeni shopkeeper, was killed in Reedley, California, on Sept. 29 after receiving a death threat and a hate note deriding his ethnicity. Ahmed was a father of eight who had lived in California for 35 years.
Abdullah Nimer, 53, a Palestinian American and father of six, was murdered Oct. 13 while selling clothing door to door in South Los Angeles.
