British military says one of its soldiers killed in Afghanistan explosion

LONDON — The British military says one of its soldiers has died in an explosion in Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defence says the soldier from the 33rd Engineer Regiment was killed Thursday near Patrol Base Blenheim in Helmand Province.

The death brings to 245 the number of British military personal who have lost their lives in Afghanistan since the start of the war there in October 2001.

The soldier has not yet been publicly identified. Authorities say he was working with a unit trying to lessen the threat posed by improvised explosive devices when he was killed.

if we just never invaded in the first place? None, because there would be no invading occupiers for the citizens...I mean "terrorists"...to direct bombs at. I never believed the bullshit premises for the military actions in Afghanistan or Iraq, and I never will support any extension of those actions.
