Kerry Challenges Bush to Debates

QUINCY, Ill. - Sen. John Kerry came here to the site of one of the legendary Lincoln-Douglas debates Saturday to repeat his call for President Bush to engage him in monthly one-on-ones from now until Election Day, saying, ``Americans shouldn't have to put up with eight months of sniping.''

``We confront big issues -- as big as any issues in the history of our nation -- and they call for a new and historic commitment to a real and informed exchange of ideas,'' said Kerry, the four-term Massachusetts Democrat. ``I believe the American people are hungry for a genuine conversation about the fundamental questions before us, and they are ready to begin this now.''

Am I alone in thinking that this presidential race is OVER within five minutes of Bush the Lesser beginning to debate issues with Kerry?

The Re:puke:'s know that * is toast if he battles Kerry in an open forum.

He is sooooo correct with that statement. We are hungry for answers.

Sadly, we won't get those answers because * will not debate until he is absolutely against the wall, and I'm afraid we will see fluff questions from the moderator of said debate, followed by the talking heads praising the chimp.

During the debates with Gore, I thought I was in the twilight zone. Gore trounced * in those debates and afterwards the pundits were calling it for *. I knew at that moment we had moved into bizarro world.
