21. That is open to debate.
It can be argued that the soulless bastard hasn't been fully alive for years.

6. Where is the outrage from the pro-gallstone crowd?
The man aborted his own gallstone. We will never know how big and successful it could have grown to be.

Will he get laid off because he's missing too much time at work??

Naaaw.. HE gets free medical care.. The best in the world..

Only "common folks" have to worry about stuff like that when they get sick..

9. gallstone my tailfeather
while gallstones are a known cause of pancreatitis they are less common in men than in women, i suspect the more common cause: alcohol, why else would the press be falling all over itself to proclaim it to be "gallstone pancreatitis" instead of the sufficient "pancreatitis."

27. You're right, M_S, thanks --
Those who think it's a good idea to advocate the death of a political figure are "grown-up"? Those who think this kind of thing is a disservice to DU, and our cause, are naive?

16. Still nothing on Google news.
Strange that it isn't being reported anywhere else yet.

Maybe it's better that Ashcroft survived. Now he is out there as a living example of Bush&Co.'s contempt for the Constitution. He also exemplifies what religious extremism can do when given power. This way Kerry has another live and understandable example of the evil promulgated by this administration.

17. You're right
never wish death on your political enemies. First of all, it kinda taints your psyche and your soul (my opinion). Secondly, if it happens it just gives the other side a certain meaasure of public sympathy. No bushco deaths are possible!

Attorney General Discharged From Hospital

WASHINGTON — Attorney General John Ashcroft was released from the hospital Sunday, five days after surgery to remove his gallbladder.

Ashcroft, 61, will stay in his Washington home for some "quiet rest" as he continues to recuperate, Justice Department spokesman Mark Corallo said.

Deputy Attorney General James Comey will continue to run the department until Ashcroft returns.

25. Could be a virus-hit Victorian era ROM BIOS.
They seemed to have trouble giving him the boot him out of the hospital.

I hope we won't have such trouble giving him a boot from office.
