Scott Brown: Obama not invited to this party
Source: Boston Herald

Surging GOP Senate candidate Scott Brown yesterday warned President Obama to “stay away” from the Bay State during his roiling race against Democratic rival Martha Coakley and not to interfere with their intensifying battle in the campaign’s final days.

“He should stay away and let Martha and I discuss the issues one on one,” Brown said. “The machine is coming out of the woodwork to get her elected. They’re bringing in outsiders, and we don’t need them.”

Coakley’s campaign showed signs of panic as they scrambled to get a last-minute appearance by Obama to bolster their effort before Tuesday’s election.

Some polls are showing the Senate contest far closer than any pundits expected, and Coakley in danger of losing her clear shot at the historic seat.

FOX News picked up the story on its website but altered the headline to read:

GOP Candidate Warns Obama to 'Stay Away' From Massachusetts Senate Race
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/14/gop-candidate-warns-obama-stay-away-massachusetts-senate-race/#discussion-form">FOX News...if you're so inclined.

"Stay away?" Brown is quoted in the BH as He should stay away and let Martha and I discuss the issues one on one," Brown told the Herald. Doesn't sound quite as tough as a "warning to stay away." I mean really, a "warning?" What would happen if Obama appeared with Coakley? What would Brown and the GOP do? Have a tantrum? Take their ball and go home?

Edited on Thu Jan-14-10 03:17 PM by Tesha
It'd be poor Scott, his pin-up photos, and his pickup truck.

But thanks to outsiders, he's blanketing the airwaves every
evening.

Meanwhile, Coakley thought she could just "phone this one
in". Did she not realize how much attention the national
Republican Party and all of their friends could focus on
her one puny special election???

one of many. A warning? Or else, what? Ever since Martha Coakley asked you about your own ammendment to deny contraceptive care to rape victims at a hospital because of religious beliefs, you have become completely unhinged. You even had your daughters come out for a no questions press conference to thrash Martha Coakley over the coals for asking you about YOUR OWN AMMENDMENT!

16. Well look at the demographics of the voting public in MA...
Those that would support Obama are already voting for her. She needs to garner support from the more religious and the more rural voters. Obama would be very polarizing in those areas. Granted I believe she'll do fine without the -- predominantly Western MA -- more conservative vote, it doesn't hurt her to try to appeal to them.

If Obama hadn't done something to try to bring the Olympics here to create many jobs, the GOP would've been crying all over the place about it. That's what they do best. Cry, throw tantrums, and take their balls and go home if they don't get what they (the corporate lobbyists who pull their strings) want. Corzine lost because of his record in Jersey and the dem in Virginia was weak.

12. Ignoramous doesn't even know how to use grammar.
For one thing, it's 'let Martha and me discuss the issues'. The test is to remove 'Martha and' and see if 'I' or 'me' is correct.

Like all stupid people trying to speak better than his level of intelligence, Brown made that classic mistake.

And since when is the President of the United States an OUTSIDER anywhere in this country?

That little piece of shit isn't worth the oxygen he's using.

in this case he not only sets the terms, but determines who may or may not engage in his game. Though I did not say "and evidently getting away with it," his actions indicate that he has.

Bullyism works when people let it. The only thing more despised than a bully is the bullied.

any right wing crap -- for various reasons --

They are getting 80% of this campaign money for ads -- so the system isn't something

they hate --

they get to keep their LARGE computers which gives them illegitimate powers to not only

report actual vote tallies -- but to PREDICT and CALL elections.

They aren't either speaking out against any part of the system of two party tyranny --

with a private corporation set up by the two parties to run the debates!

And meanwhile, the CIA is also in there looking over everyone's shoulder.

"National Security" disinformation, cover ups, blocking of info to public are going to kill us!

And, agree on the "bullying" --

but sadly the Democratic Party is also RARELY responding --

Corporate money also keeps them quiet!!

48. Maybe if Scott takes off his shirt, and gets down to work
convincing the voters that he's worth their vote, instead of whining, he might be better off.

He looked pretty good nearly 30 years ago when he posed nude for Cosmopolitan. I wonder if photos of Coakley posing nude in her college days surfaced, would Repubs have as little to say as they have about Scott. Not that I care, it's just the hypocrisy again.

http://www.cosmopolitan.com/celebrity/news/scott-brown-nude-in-cosmo

Long before he was a politician, the Republican candidate vying for Ted Kennedy’s U.S. Senate seat posed nude for the centerfold of Cosmo. Scott Brown won our “America’s Sexiest Man” contest and appeared in the June 1982 issue. In those days he was a 22-year-old law student at Boston College who was cramming for finals just days before stripping down for our photographer.

“Here at Cosmo we’ve had bachelors go on to be actors, models, and reality show stars, so we’re thrilled that one has gone on to become a politician,” says Kate White, Cosmo’s editor in chief. Obviously we know how to pick ’em. This particular bachelor has always had political ambitions and even admitted to being “a bit of a patriot” when we interviewed him.

Looked pretty good back then ~

52. But my question is, an aspiring lawyer posing nude? What kind of judgment is that?
When all is said is done, a lawyer's only real asset is his personal credibility. Didn't it occur to him that the legal profession was not the best place in which to have nude photos popping up, however old they are?
