Next Stop Libya - but not Cuba!

Cuba is now the only country on earth Americans can't visit!

A peaceful country 90 miles from US, approx. 12 million population, NOT at war with US, a safe place to travel, and a country where Americans are welcomed with open arms.

A country with beautiful historic Spanish architecture, beautiful white beaches and several mountain ranges, rain forests, friendly and educated people - a country that is no threat to the US.

Our politicians will go to any length to pander to Miami Cubans who do not want Americans to see what Cuba is really like. Write to your congresspersons and tell them if we can travel to China, Vietnam, Libya, etc. - we definitely should be able to travel to Cuba!!

1. It makes no sense to isolate Cuba. If we really wanted to destroy

the Castro regime we should be undermining his authority by exposing the island to outside ideas.

2. Cuba IS exposed to outside ideas. Many countries have

normal relations with Cuba. Last time I was there I met people from all over Europe, South America as well as lots of Canadians, even some Americans. Therefore I take it that you really mean USA ideas.

Why can't Americans see that the travel ban is against AMERICANS?? My father is 85 and always wanted to go to Cuba. He doesn't want to break the law and now is getting too old to travel. This really pisses me off!

Should Americans commit civil disobedience and go anyway? Or let a bunch of hate-filled Miami Cubans dictate where we can and can't travel?

We're constantly being told that we have freedom in the US, but that is bullshit, and the rest of the world is catching on!!

exists. Everything about our country is so wonderful it should be shared with everyone, whether they want it or not.

The embargo is just bullshit. It hurts us more than it hurts Cuba. We are deprived of experiencing that beautiful island.

Maybe they are afraid of the Cuban's influence on us.

Actually, they can but it's a hassle.

I think the best favor we ever did Cuba was keeping the rank-and-file of Americans out.

4. It isn't just Bush...

The Cuban policy (as well as many many other things like the fanaticaly hardline on everything from condoms to pot) to capital punishment, gun control, etc etc...

All of these do a lot to place the US at odds with the rest of the world.
The war in Iraq and the Bush Presidency has, unfortunately, has made many look at the shortcomings of the US and it's society...many who would not have done otherwise.

That is the problem and Kerry and the Democrats have a lot to do to change this 'decline of American prestige and example' in the world.
