Palin to campaign for McCain in March
Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) – As Sen. John McCain readies for a potential primary challenge from the right this fall, the Arizona Republican is playing his trump card.

Sarah Palin, McCain's former running mate and perhaps the most powerful brand in Republican politics, will stump for McCain in Arizona on March 26 and 27, a Palin adviser told CNN. The presence of Palin - and the considerable crowds and media attention she will draw - might give pause to J.D. Hayworth, the former Republican congressman and radio host who opposes McCain's position on illegal immigration and is mulling a Senate run of his own.

The former Alaska governor will also hit the campaign trail in the coming month for two conservative heroes - Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann.

Palin has already endorsed Perry in his primary fight against Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison; she will appear with the governor in Houston on Feb. 7.

3. Wow, monumentally stupid move
I haven't much to say about this woman in general, but I do believe this jumps the shark. McCain may not even win his own primary.

5. I have a completely different take on this.
The McCain/Palin faction of the GOP is unifying, or attempting to. They recognize that Palin will bring in outliers and are willing to overcome the petty differences in a way that the outraged "where's my pony" democarats can't. They smell blood, and rightly so. We can either do the same, unify toward a more distant but ultimately more satisfying goal or we can continue to gnash our teeth over not getting everything now and consume ourselves in the bargain.

I dislike Palin, McCain and everything they stand for but they're willing to stand together for it and we could damn well learn something from that.

11. +1
Many here are too busy laughing & pointing to see beyond the organization of the GOP. We thought it was hysterical when the Republicans were flat footed in '07 & '08.. and instead of learning from their mistakes, we're just repeating them.

At the end of the day, I don't think either political affiliation knows what the hell to do when they are actually IN power. It's much easier to just point and blame then fix problems - and both Dems and Republicans do the pointing and blaming quite well.

I'd like to see both groups put down the partisan bullshit for 5 minutes and actually try to fix problems - but I don't see that happening.

14. Analogy fail.
Establishment Republicans like McCain are AFRAID of their base. Establishment Dems think we're stupid, batshit crazy, and utterly irrelevant until they lose a race and then it's all our fault.

8. In March?

Why not in October?

The reason is obvious. McCain wants to show Palin there's no hard feelings but doesn't want her anywhere near him closer to the election.

12. You mean the tea party convention that's in turmoil?

The original tea party organization knows the convention is for the GOP and special interests and have called for a boycott, in part because of how much they're paying Palin's word salad.

Banquet Only tickets (featuring keynote speaker Sarah Palin) are still available!

Branson, Missouri, Chamber of Commerce must be kicking themselves in the butt for letting this spectacle slip through their greedy little fingers.
