Haiti's elite hold nation's future in their hands
Source: LA Times

Reporting from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti - Gregory Mevs leaped from his armored silver Toyota SUV and marched past the guards and mango trees into what serves these days as the center of the Haitian government.

He was ready to dispense a million gallons of fuel to the earthquake-ravaged capital. But the paperwork was not in order. He needed the Haitian prime minister's signature.

Ten minutes later, he had it.

Mevs can do that. He has the prime minister's ear. He hobnobs with people like Bill Clinton, George Soros and the chief executives of the world's largest corporations. He is one of Haiti's storied elite, a member of one of the six families that control the Haitian economy and have essentially called the shots here for generations.

1. Yeah
You can bet the elites are sweating it out these days, wondering if there will be enough marines to protect them from the masses of starving, landless people.

2. Where are the surgical supplies? Everything else comes first?
Will there soon be Halliburton types bringing in slaves from the Philippines to reconstruct? To turn the place into another offshore sweatshop?

4. Bringing in slaves??
What about that well kept secret of child slave trade right there in Haiti?? How we can continue (for years!) to give financial aid to a country that sells children and we ignore that fact is beyond me!

3. So, Haiti and our Empire have at least one thing in common
OUR Aristocratic Nobles also have the nation's future 100% in their hands, unencumbered by anything but the tiniest bit of window-dressing providing a fake dog-and-pony-show to the TV-addled Subject Populace.

As we hurdle headlong backwards to the Dark Ages (did they ever really END? I now have my doubts) I suspect that such window-dressing will become less as it becomes less needed.

Some things never change, apparently they just get disguised with just enough Plausible Deniability to forget they were ever there.

5. funny how their elite just let their country crumble the way they have
similar to the attitude of elitists in our own country, helped by the sycophantic republican voter on the right.

"Yes master... we believe in you master... only you can free us all..."
