Obama to Stump for Reid
Source: CQ Politics

President Obama will appear with politically embattled Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in Las Vegas next month, according to a White House official.

While it is not clear whether the appearance will be overtly political, any appearance by the president in Reid's home state is likely to be seen as an effort to buck up Reid's re-election effort.

Reid faces a difficult race and trails potential Republican challengers in some recent polls.

CQ Politics rates the general election race as a Tossup.

8. Enhanced melancholy. It would be easy to get reelected with some good legislation on the books

4. I predict Obama will have as much success stumping for Reid...
as he did campaigning for Deeds, Corzine, and Coakley.

15. Yes, but we'd want him to go in a primary, not an election.
This is nuts. On the other hand, I believe Reid is often a scapegoat. Hard to tell, though.

5. That will guarantee a Reid loss. Particularly after Mass and
today's markets loss, caused 75% by Obama' bank assault and 25% by China's bank reserve increase.

14. I hate to be negative about this whole situation
but Obama needs to stay in Washington and continue to work hard on the tasks at hand and let Reid die a deserving slow death by himself out there in Nevada. Better yet, Reid needs to do what Dodd had the balls to do and announce he is not running again so we can get some new blood in the Senate that will get some things done.
