Reid Says He’ll Support Bernanke for Second Term as Fed Chairman
Source: Bloomberg

“While I will vote for his confirmation, my support is not unconditional,’’ Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said in an e-mail statement. “I know Chairman Bernanke is committed to transparency and accountability, and that is why I will hold him to the highest standards of both.”

14. Better question: who is blackmailing them & with what
My new litmus test: Any DEM who is NOT trying to get rid of the people who caused, covered for, or otherwise aided/abetted the economic terrorism we have going on is either one of the fascists or a coward being blackmailed willing to sell out the nation to protect their own dirty laundry.

I used to be pretty tolerant. Kiss that shit goodbye. I want Harry to fucking man up and retire.

12. Start counting Harry because you ain't got 60 votes in the Senate:

Feingold, Boxer, Dorgan oppose second term for Bernanke

Updated 1:17 p.m.
From wire reports
Three more senators, Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) and Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), announced Friday their opposition to a second term for Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

"It is time for a change," Boxer said in a statement. "Our next Federal Reserve chairman must represent a clean break from the failed policies of the past."

Feingold said, "Under the watch of Ben Bernanke, the Federal Reserve permitted grossly irresponsible financial activities that led to the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression."

Dorgan is upset that the Fed has kept secret the identities of firms that took out emergency loans.

Two senators have already announced their opposition to Bernanke.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a liberal like Boxer and Feingold, has placed a "hold" on the nomination, meaning it will require a super-majority of 60 votes to confirm Bernanke.

31. Another intrenched Democrat that just doesn't get it
Reid is going to lose his re-election bid because he continues to believe business as usual is the way to lead. People are very angry at the Fed and the Bankers in general. They feel like they have been ripped off long enough and Bernanke is the one in charge of those doing the ripping. Reid just aligned himself with the Bankers and people will no longer put up with it..Get a clue ASAP or find another job..

I am not suprised to see him support Bernanke. Reaid likes things the way they are, that has just been displayed, again. Stop assuming he is stupid, weak or incompetent.... he's a lying corporate shill and always has been.
