Minnesota leading the nation in renewable energy
just saw on local news and wanted to tell the minnesota DUers. congratulations! now if only the rest of the country could follow suit, we'd be able to tell the oil industry to ... well, you know.
{snip}
And Governor Pawlenty says more goals are set "to have 10% of our energy come from renewable forms by 2015."

Congressman Gil Gutknecht says with the state's entrepreneurial expertise and some risk taking, Minnesota will all but manifest itself as a leader in the renewable energy industry.

2. Pawlenty has taken a few lessons from the big boys in DC
He's taken to saying one thing and then doing the opposite. His appointees on the Met Coucil are in the process of destroying mass transit. Expect lots more money for freeway lanes, but none for rail and not enough for buses.

The wind and ethanol initiatives will be fluffed and patted as long as they don't actually impact the old-energy folks who put him in office.

He learns fast.
