SEIU’s Stern: ‘Bad Choice of Words’ to Equate Senators to Terrorists
Source: ABC

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: SEIU President Andy Stern is walking back an eyebrow-raising comparison he made earlier this week, where he compared Democratic senators to “terrorists” for holding up health care reform.

"It was a bad choice of words," Stern said on MSNBC on Tuesday. "What I would say is that the American people sent the Senate there to have a debate, not to say, 'We are going to hold the whole Senate hostage until I get my way. We don't even debate until I get my special needs.' That is not what people are expecting from the Democratic Senate. The hostage-taking, deal-making has to end, and we have to stand up and fight for what's right for people."

In a speech on Tuesday, and in an appearance on ABC’s “Top Line” that same day, Stern said some moderate senators “acted like terrorists” by threatening to sink health care reform.

Today, the Workforce Fairness Institute, a business group that tangles frequently with Big Labor, released a Web video calling on Stern to name the senators that he considers to be terrorists.

He should have known that a union president shouldn't compare democratic senators to terrorists :spank:

Thats a privelege reserved specifically for GOP pundits and politicians. :P

2. "I'm sorry I called you
a motherfucker. I won't call you a motherfucker again. I will now publicly apologize for calling you a motherfucker by telling everyone I called you a motherfucker. And will tell them too that I won't call you a motherfucker any more."

3. Someone on our side used a terrorist metaphor to describe the likes of Nelson?
Am I supposed to manufacture outrage about that? If ao, why?

Terrorists? Calls for too much activity - most of them couldn't hack it.

6. Who is holding the Senate hostage? Democrats? ROFL!

Last I checked, it was a filibustering minority of Republicans that stood in the way of reform. You want to call somebody a bunch of terrorists? Start with them.
