GOP's Whitman disavows 'proud racist' councilman
Source: AP via Yahoo!

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Meg Whitman is severing ties with an elected official who described himself as a "proud racist."

The Whitman campaign issued a statement Saturday disavowing Santa Clarita Councilman Bob Kellar. The statement comes one day after state Democrats called on the former eBay chief executive to distance herself from Kellar.

During a recent Tea Party-style rally in Southern California, Kellar blamed illegal immigrants for harming the economy. His videotaped remarks were posted on YouTube and caused an uproar.

Whitman's campaign spokeswoman Sarah Pompei says Kellar's comments are unacceptable. She says Kellar has voluntarily ended his involvement with the campaign.

2. I lived in San Bernardino County for years...
...and I still get political emails from people like David Dreier. That dude doesn't even use the color red anymore. It's all green, green, green everywhere and the word "Republican" is nowhere in sight.

Ashamed of his own club, he is.

6. Scott Brown did not indicate that either. To the contrary, his first ad began with a video of JFK,
which became Scott Brown, finishing the speech JFK made. Hell, it was only fair. Brown was, after all, running for the Senate Seat once held by JFK and Teddy.

Nowhere on any of Brown's campaign materials did anything about being Republican appear.

Deceptive, lying POS.

Of course, that's common with Republicans in Massachusetts. And, of course, smaller, neighborhood papers will pull the occasional Faux News trick in reverse: They'll put an (R) after the name of a Democratic candidate.

Vile, vile, vile Party, the GOP is.

3. I actually admire Kellar. He's one of the few Repugs and Teabaggers who are honest
enough to come out and admit to being racist. As a Latina, I give the fool props. Hey, he might even run a campaign based on that. "I'm Bob Kellar, I'm a racist asshat, but I'm honest." I'd never vote for scumbag, but it's got a nice ring to it.

4. Wonder if Whitman
would have distanced herself from Kellar if the Democrats hadn't called on her to do so?

Too bad she had to be prodded into it.

7. I see only one of two possiblities.
1/ Whitman's campaign knew Kellar was a racist and brought him into the fold anyway.

2/ Whitman's campaign was clueless about his racism because it never bothered to ask or investigate. (He, being proud of it, is very unlikely to have denied it, if so much as asked.

Either way, Whitman should not govern any state, especially one with the Mexican heritage California has.
