Eight Cole suspects recaptured

EIGHT of 10 suspects in the 2000 terrorist bombing of a US Navy destroyer who escaped from jail nearly a year ago have been recaptured, the government said today.

Meanwhile, authorities beefed up security around foreign embassies and government buildings in the capital San'a today, cordoning off some areas and sending extra security patrols.

A Yemeni security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the stepped up security was "pre-emptive". He did not elaborate
