She made a promise... but keep putting it off - so it's time to turn on the heat on Hutchinson - make good on her word to resign effective immediately so the election for the U.S. Senate is in TX is also decided in 2010.

You and I may want her to. But nothing says she "has to". As far as turning on the heat, that's fine. If her failure to resign somehow hurts her reelection chances, folks should go for it. PErsonally, I doubt many of her supporters are going to be bothered by her decision not to resign.

Perry is batshit crazy. Now ever road will be a toll road. It costs my wife $40 a month just to drive to work, on top of gas. If we go anywhere on the weekends or I drive around its more like $60. I would love a Dem to win in Texas but that is not going to happen. Perry just sucks.

Perry had established had held a lead that suggested he would gain more than 50 percent of the vote, avoiding a runoff against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Hutchison polled strongly in the early part of the election season, but her support has slipped. Perry leads the Republican gubernatorial primary with 52 percent of the vote. Hutchison has about 30 percent and Wharton nurse and small business owner Debra Medina has 16 percent of the vote.

With 12 percent of the preciencts reporting, Gov. Rick Perry had 52.5 percent of the votes cast, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison had 30.9 percent of the votes cast and Wharton businesswoman Debra Medina had 16.7 percent.>>>>

Wow... possibly premature concession? I'm sure Hutchison has some folks who know more about what votes haven't come in than I do... but, last I saw, Perry was less than 2% above required runoff territory, w/ only about 30% of the vote counted...

Oh well, I can't stand Goodhair, but I think White will have a better shot of knocking him off than he would have had against KBH.

I live in Houston, and voted today for Bill White. Will be voting again for him in the election as well. I was glad to hear Hutchison is out of the race, 'cuz I think it will strengthen White's chances in the election.

So the secessionist candidate and the teabagger candidate combined *only* pulled 70% of the vote. That's good, right? haha
