US soldiers killed in Iraq attack
Two American soldiers have been killed and six wounded in a mortar attack north of Baghdad, the US military says.
The attack occurred at a logistics base in Balad, about 70 km (45 miles) north of the Iraqi capital.

The deaths bring to 391 the number of US soldiers killed in action since the Iraq war began almost a year ago.

Note: I'm assuming that the 391 is a typo

3. KIA - Killed by the Enemy?
The number of U.S. dead is about 560, but maybe the 391 figure represents soldiers killed by the enemy. The other 170 may have died in noncombat accidents.

Maybe somebody can provide a clarification . . . . .

6. It really made me sad watching CBS the other night. A mom was being
interviewed. He daughter, US soldier, was murdered in Iraq. The mom just said, 'well she's doing what the Commander and Chief has ordered. But I don't want you to misunderstand, I miss my baby.' I started crying.

I think she was in West Virginia.

15. Meanwhile, Bush and Cheney celebrate the anniversary of war.
A disgusting and reprehensible administration, unfortunately enabled by spineless Democrats. It is time to clean the party of DINOs and FIGHT the warmongering republicans. Someone has to stand up for our troops!
