N. Korea says US forced impeachment

The US instigated the impeachment of South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun to bring to power a pro-US government, North Korea said yesterday in its first detailed commentary on the political row.

The communist North's official KCNA news agency said the opposition-led parliamentary ballot to impeach the left-leaning Roh last Friday was "unprecedented political gangsterism" resembling a military coup and had embarrassed all Koreans.

"The US is chiefly to blame for the incident," KCNA said.

"The US egged the South Korean political quacks, obsessed by the greed for power, on to stage such incident in a bid to install an ultra-right pro-US regime there," it said.

You've got my ear.

I've just listened to Rep. Jay Inslee go over about 20 massive corruptions of the aWol Bush Adm. And Jay only voiced the ones that are 100%. This story doesn't surprise me because Junior is incompetent.

1. Oh my god, we're
involved in S. Korea, as well? I was just getting over the Haiti incident, just cooling down over the "departure" of monsieur Aristide. Now, this.

Is there any place on earth where we don't have our tentacles? Maybe upper Mongolia? Forget it, I recall reading there's some iron ore there.

The US represents only 4% of the world's population. When did we get the notion that we could control, and I do mean control the other 96%?

3. It is odd to hear lectures on governance from North Korea
But impeachment, recall, coup, invasion, etc. does seem to be getting used against the perceived enemies of Bushco a lot, lately.

4. it's really weird to
feel that anyone or any place is more sane than what we have in governmental power here.

When I believe more of what is printed in Pravda than any major US paper, I know that the world is inside out.

I hope that we can get these guys out of our houses.

5. A word of caution
North Korea (well, two words, actually)

Come on folks, I hate this administration as much as anyone, but I'll be damned if I'm going to start believing pronouncements from N. Korea.

Now, if the just ousted leader of South Korea's makes that charge, then I'll listen.

7. here's some information on this "impeachment"
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/75997/1/.html

excerpt:

South Korea's two main opposition parties, the Grand National Party (GNP) and the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP), joined forces to impeach Roh Friday after he was reprimanded by a government watchdog for violating presidential neutrality before the general elections.

Roh denies that he broke the law and refused to apologize, setting in motion the vote that suspended him from office and transferred power to Prime Minister Goh as interim president.

<snip>

Roh's impeachment polarized politics and sent tens of thousands of demonstrators into the streets for candlelight protests that were outlawed on Monday.

More than 70 percent of South Koreans opposed impeachment, according to polls, and opposition parties that supported the vote are facing a popular backlash.

<snip>

Support for the conservative GNP, the majority party with 145 seats in the 172-member National Assembly, has been falling over allegations that it took 70 million dollars in illegal campaign funding in 2002 presidential elections.
