South Korean Court Convenes To Review Roh Impeachment

South Korea's Constitutional Court has convened to review the impeachment of President Roh Moo-Hyun for the first time following his suspension from office last week.

The court has final authority on whether to uphold the impeachment or restore Roh to power and override the vote of 193 opposition members of parliament to oust him from office.

More than 70% of South Koreans opposed impeachment, according to polls, and opposition parties that supported the vote are facing a popular backlash.
