TAMPA - Chris Jarnegan always filled his Ford Expedition with premium unleaded gasoline - until this week, when he got a case of sticker shock at the pump.

4. tlcandie, please, how much is a gallon of gas in tampa?

would appreciate knowing. family member, attending college in southern florida, having difficult time, financially, and not able to leave dorm because of cost of gas down there.

7. I'm finding .. in Spring Hill about $1.67 at RAce Trac ..

I was pumping at Hess.. I have to research RAce Trac to see who supplies them, etc., because I refuse to go to Exxons, etc.

On Hwy 19 it is about $1.71 for regular of course. My cruiser doesn't demand that high end stuff :+

10. Yesterday

Palm Beach County $1.79 reg up to $2.00 premium. That was in a Mobil and a Shell. It's about 5 cents cheaper at the discount gas stations.

8. What's he doing using premium?

Shouldn't an Explorer run as well on the mid-level of octane (89)? My car tends to slug if I use the lowest grade all of the time, but premium? He must have money to burn.
