Nevada lands first Chinese wind turbine factory in US

China’s A-Power Energy Generation Systems, in cooperation with US partners, says it will build a major wind turbine production and assembly plant in Nevada to serve the North and South American markets.

The factory, to be developed in conjunction with US Renewable Energy Group and American Nevada Group, will employ about 1,000 Nevada workers in “high paying, long-term jobs”.

According to A-Power's CEO, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was instrumental in convincing the China-based wind turbine producer to put a plant in his home state.

is the symbol. Seriously, this one stock could fund your entire retirement. It's about $13.00 a share, down from $31.00 and in the next year or two will break $100.00. This company builds more than just wind turbines, it builds complete stand-alone energy grids powered by solar, wind, and biomass. I have been invested in this company since July 2007.

A little over 30 years ago Japan came in with transistor radios and the Honda

"jap-crap" we called it

They overcame our resistance to foreign products with prices, then quality.

USA auto manufactures and sales declined, electronics declined, USA fought back by outsourcing products to be resold in the USA

nothing much is "Made in USA" anymore - it's "assembled" - then resold as North American.

I was licenced as an Auto/Truck mechanic in 1975 - repairing vehicles found parts labeled "Made in Canada" - Made in USA"

NOW

take a dash apart - "Made in Korea" - Made in Taiwan" - Made in China" - etc., - etc,

OH - that's on a Chevy, Ford, Dodge etc., NORTH AMERICAN vehicles

not anymore - it ain't just cars

gets right down to our food

read the labels closely

"made for" a Canadian/American food supplier by another name - takes a Google search to find out it's thousands of miles away

Our millionaires and billionaires are ruining our futures

and we keep voting for them

I see jobs for the residents of Nevada. NV is in bad shape, suffering from high unemployment and a lot of foreclosures. I hope the jobs pay decent wages.

The economic power house and manufacturing giant China is investing in offshore production facilities for its innovative technology here in our backwater has been republic.

8. It would be nice if it was an American owned plant but that being said

Building the wind turbines will create many more jobs than just the workers in the plant. There has to be distributors all over the American Continent and untold tens of thousands of installers and maintenance crews. And who knows what off shoots from the wind turbine business. This could open the floodgates for all kinds of alternative forms of energy.

I'm very glad to see this happen.
