Blasts shake two Baghdad hotels popular with coalition contractors
Blasts shake two Baghdad hotels
popular with coalition contractors

Thu Mar 18, 1:27 PM ET

BAGHDAD (AFP) - At least two Baghdad hotels popular with
contractors working for the US-led coalition were hit by apparent rockets
while other explosions were heard across the city, AFP correspondents
reported.

It was not immediately clear if there had
been any casualties.

A US military spokeswoman said the army
was investigating the blasts.

Security guards panicked and fired bursts of
machine-gun fire as a column of smoke shot
from the roof of one hotel.

1. I wonder ....

since they were fewer U.S. soldiers being KIA the last few weeks (save for the recent uptick last week), I wonder if the troops were being pulled back a bit to keep the death rate down in those weeks and the attacks on the contractors is a way to draw the troops back in (I also know that the contractors are easier targets too)

3. That's sick so, it's probably true
What's even sicker is that the U.S. is putting the contractors in there as bait. Gotta earn those Halli-dollars the hard way in today's modern imperialist/corporatist military society of the 21st century.
