Witness: Michael Jackson doctor interrupted CPR
Source: AP

By THOMAS WATKINS

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Michael Jackson's doctor halted CPR on the dying pop star and delayed calling paramedics so he could collect drug vials at the scene, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press that shed new light on the singer's chaotic final moments.

The explosive allegation that Dr. Conrad Murray may have tried to hide evidence is likely to be a focus as prosecutors move ahead with their involuntary manslaughter case against him.

The account was given to investigators by Alberto Alvarez, Jackson's logistics director, who was summoned to the stricken star's side as he was dying on June 25. His statement and those from two other Jackson employees also obtained by the AP paint a grisly scene in Jackson's bedroom.

Alvarez told investigators that he rushed to Jackson's room and saw the star lying in his bed, an IV attached to his leg. Jackson's mouth was agape, eyes open and there was no sign of life. Murray worked frantically, at one point performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while Alvarez took over CPR.

3. Someone is near death and they waited 10 minutes to call 911?
Calling other people on the grounds in the meantime? Murray was calling the shots here -- he knew he was in trouble.

5. Stopping may bump up the crime from manslaughter to murder as
that would demonstrate indifference to human life.

9. Any legitimate doctor
would have refused to put him under ANESTHESIA every night, and then bring him out of it in the morning. Was he a licensed Anesthesiologist? It's like having major surgury every night of you life. Anesthesia is a tricky and risky thing. It was just a matter of time before something went fatally wrong.

10. he shopped around for someone who would inject him with an anesthetic that
could not be lawfully administered outside a hospital setting under strict protocols. It's not surprising that such a person would be looking out for himself when the situation inevitably turned bad. If this guy had followed his hippocratic oath, he would never have joined the Jackson entourage in the first place.

12. "First, do no harm..."
Not, "|First, collect all the evidence I can possibly collect that could place my sorry ass in jail".

Jesus H Christ. What an excuse for a health provider. And to think, Jackson could have had someone who really cared take care of him.

Some doctors amount to little more than piss poor protoplasm.

13. I imagine that MJ hand picked this Dr. precisely because he was willing to break the rules.
If I was on a jury, I would have to take that in to consideration in handing down judgment on the doctor for his actions. I'm not excusing the doctor, but it is certainly a mitigating factor when considering manslaughter or murder in relation to the medical dosages that MJ selectively sought with his fortunes. I don't begrudge MJ for choosing pharmaceutical remedies for his travails. He had a unique, difficult and challenging life that none of us can understand. I don't even begrudge the doctor for conforming to MJ's wishes as long as MJ clearly understood the possible consequences of his choices (which he likely did).

Perhaps a medical board would want to take the doctor's license away, as is their prerogative. But criminal mischief, in this case, would be a tough sell for me. MJ was doing exactly what he wanted to do and he chose his doctor very carefully and paid him very well.

As far as the ethics are concerned, each person will have to live (or die) with their choices. I'm only speaking to criminal behavior as a layperson.

17. I don't think Jackson paid him to kill him.
And if the doctor knew that he couldn't give Jacko what he wanted without going way out of bounds of his scope of practice and putting his life in extreme jeopardy, he should have turned down the job.

Lots of people go to prison for this kind of crazy shit. This doctor should certainly be no exception.

16. Alberto Alvarez !
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 01:12 AM by Wash. state Desk Jet
According to Alberto Alvarez ! Alberto Alvarez took over cpr!

Well paid doctor eh!
Jackson never paid the doc.
And the reason most likely is because the doc wanted to wean Jackson off that stuff.
And furthermore drug addicts really hate to be confronted with problems of addiction.
And what about all those indentity thefts Jackson did to get that drug.
Happens to be a very big issue in the case .
Alvarez became filed with self pity and you can take his words and throw those words as far as you can.

There are no laws at current regulating that drug. That is because as a rule it is only used in hospitals .The only known addicts of record are actually doctors who have admited to being addicted to propohol however it is spelled.Dancing with the white rabbit ring any bells?

Why do you think doctors would become addicted to that drug? Isn't it because it is not traceable, it just goes away? Get the facts.

The case being built up against doctor Conrad Murry is very very weak ,in fact lame.

Hay remember Archie Bunker?
Remember the actors son who died of a over dose on drugs?
Remember what the actor said?
He said get inbetween your kids and drugs any way you can.
Remember his name by the way?

What about those Jacksons ,are they all death and dumb and blind to the facts?
What the hell didn't they do?
Or isn't that a no brainer?

Alvarez is a scumbag.

There is a number of things we may never really know for sure about Michael Jackson .
And there are some things that will become known.
So what's a king?
