Acorn to Shut All Its Offices by April 1
Source: NY TIMES

The community organizing group Acorn announced Monday that it would close all its remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1.

The organization is “developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues,” said a statement released by the group.

“For Acorn as a national organization, our vindication on the facts doesn’t necessarily pay the bills,” Bertha Lewis, the chief executive of Acorn, said in a statement.

While the videos gave the impression that one of the two activists, James E. O’Keefe III, was dressed as a pimp when he entered the offices, later inspection seemed to indicate that he had manipulated that part of the footage and showed no evidence that he wore the costume when talking to Acorn workers.

1. Very sad. Somehow, I wish they said March 31 instead of April 1, though..

3. Don't be TOO sad
They are now, unfortunately, a political liability. And I can guarantee you that they will regroup, change their name, and be back in action before too long.

4. CNN this morning gave an inaccurate account of the story, even
including the "Mickey Mouse" screaming meme...and failed to add that "Mickey" never voted for ANYONE.

I can't stand the MSM...grrrr.

5. this is a travesty
just like Don Siegelman. The lawyers of the Obama administration have said "there is no constitutional right not to be framed."
They have turned a blind eye to Acorn and Siegelman but for some reason the DOJ is very interested in John Rogers in Alabama.

7. Yes sad...and shame on MSM
The MSM...what a joke. They RAN with the cooked story and video.

Even our lowly home, when we first saw the "breathless" report with the video, knew that something was wrong.

And now the NYT has back peddled? ...day late and dollar short on that one!

SO...I hope that others will step up and reorganize.

Lastly...it was ALWAYS my understanding that there were never, EVER any PROVEN illegal votes cast.
The organization, BY LAW, had to inspect all registration cards brought in, to see that the forms
were accurately filled out.
IF...and I repeat IF, they found Mickey Mouse, etc...BY LAW, they had to report that and the person
that brought in the card to the Registrar's Office...for legal action.

Mickey Mouse never, EVER voted.

8. Since they voted to cute funding to ACORN,
why hasn't it been repealed? If not for the fact that the law targeted one group/entity.
