LINCOLN - Signature-gathering began Monday on an initiative petition drive that organizers say was provoked by Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson's vote for the health care overhaul.

The petition aims to let Nebraskans recall any elected official, including a member of Congress.

But constitutional questions and financial considerations could put the goal out of reach.

Drive supporters said they were dismayed at Nelson's December vote and at the Medicaid provision that helped secure it.

1. I remember when we wanted to set up a recall

of droopy dog Lieberman here in CT. There's not a chance in hell that it would pass constitutional muster. There is no Federal provision for recall and that's where it ends.

9. The Constitution says nothing, one way or the other, about recall. I don't think silence equals

prohibition. But, setting the terms of Reps at two years, Senators at six years and the President at four years, which the Constitution does do explicityly, could be deemed to be the final word on the matter. On the other hand, there is that provison about vacancies, too?


Article I, Section 3.
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, chosen by the legislature thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote.

Immediately after they shall be assembled in consequence of the first election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three classes. The seats of the Senators of the first class shall be vacated at the expiration of the second year, of the second class at the expiration of the fourth year, and the third class at the expiration of the sixth year, so that one third may be chosen every second year; and if vacancies happen by resignation, or otherwise, during the recess of the legislature of any state, the executive thereof may make temporary appointments until the next meeting of the legislature, which shall then fill such vacancies.

What is less patriotic?: Whatever the fuck Obama has done to ruin your life (cut taxes for most of these tards), or calling the current President of the United States of America that was Elected by a good margin by the people of this country (just not you and your hillbilly neighbor) the Anti-Christ or a Marxist? Are Marxist's, or Communists usually elected?

I'm pleased the turd voted for the bill. Though, I will vote for his Democratic Challenger or a Republican. Seems that it's just a bit rediculous though for Nebraskans to try and recall a Democrat for voting with Democrats...and I doubt it's a recall because they are upset about not having a public option (a la Brown)...if that where the case...maybe I'd see it.

DON'T ELECT A DEMOCRAT NEBRASKA IF YOU EXPECT HIM TO VOTE REPUBLICAN. Duh!!
