The FBI had received information about the Air-India disaster from one source but advised the RCMP that the information had come from several people, retired FBI agent Ron Parrish confirmed in response to questioning by defence lawyer Michael Code.
Testimony about the altered FBI report in 1985 follows an acknowledgment last week that the agency provided a report with ?disinformation? concocted by agents about events in 1988.
The trial ground to a halt at midday Thursday at the request of the FBI.
Prosecutor Richard Cairns said that FBI officials in the courtroom wanted to consult with officials at headquarters in Washington on whether to raise objections to defence counsel using some of their documents during cross examination of Mr. Parrish.
