Schauer says he got death threat on health care vote

Washington -- Rep. Mark Schauer, D-Battle Creek, said Thursday he received a threatening voice mail from someone saying "I hope you die a slow death at a very young age."
The FBI and U.S. Capitol Police are investigating threats to at least 10 Democratic lawmakers believed linked to their support for the controversial $940 billion overhaul of health care.
In addition to Schauer, Reps. Bart Stupak of Menominee and Gary Peters of Bloomfield Township say they have received threats. All three voted for the health care legislation late Sunday night.
"It's unfortunate that the level of discourse in this country has deteriorated to the point where members of Congress, their families and staff have received threats of violence over a vote that will ultimately help fix our broken health care system," Schauer said in a statement. "My office has reported this latest incident to the Capitol Hill Police to investigate, and it is my sincere hope that these threats will not escalate any further. In the meantime, I'll remain focused on serving the people of Michigan and working to get our economy back on track."

Boehner doesn't get the difference between grass-roots and astroturf.
