Barbara Bush hospitalized for routine tests
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Former first lady Barbara Bush was admitted Saturday to a hospital in Texas for routine tests, a spokeswoman said.

"Mrs Bush is in for some routine tests, not an emergency of any kind," said Jim Appleby, spokesman for former President George H.W. Bush.

The former first lady was taken to Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She had not been feeling well for about a week, said Jean Becker, the chief of staff for Bush's husband.

Bush, 84, is expected to stay at the hospital for a day or two, Becker said. Details on the testing were not immediately available.

5. I'm sure the hospital will work out well for her.
I wonder if they'll make sure she doesn't get any "brown" or "black" doctors, to avoid worrying her "beautiful mind."

Wishing you all the best, you evil creature, because even evil folk like you deserve the best medical treatment available.

14. So much hate.
I hope she's okay. I hope she lives for many years to come.

Since a lot of the responses so far have been cold and filled with venom, I'll say this:

A dead mind cannot suffer the guilt and shame of a living one.

15. Well, hey, folks!!!
Wouldn't we all love to have insurance that covered hospitalization for "tests," rather than making multiple trips for x-rays, MRI's, blood work, and ultrasounds? What kind of insurance allows that? Back in 1960 they did, but not long after that insurance companies stopped the practice. Emergency admissions get tests covered, nonemergency admissions you've got to get the tests as an outpatient and THEN, if indicated by the tests, you get admitted. I can't say I disagree with that approach in nonemergency situations as it is less expensive that way, but Mrs. Bush gets to lie in bed and relax while being tested. How nice. Wish I had her coverage.

18. It could still be serious. Just because it's not an emergency of any kind.
Doesn't mean it isn't anything serious.

My dad just went into the hospital for a consultation once. Ended up in emergency.

How many routine tests are normally performed in the hospital that were ordered because they didn't have a concern?

27. All I can say is I don't care
Edited on Sun Mar-28-10 10:36 AM by lunatica
I realized in 2004 that hatred only hurts me and the people around me. Indifference after acceptance of things the way they are is how I feel now. I may get angry at the unfairness and the deliberate malice of some people, but I don't have the time to waste on hate.

Really Babs, I just don't care about you. Not even enough to wish you well or ill. Like the rest of us you will die in due time.

36. indifference helps the right.
hatred is good if it stops the stupid right-wind.

their hatred of the left has been effective in hurting us. the right-wing has succeeded in setting the agenda for 20 years.

not hating them is like saying we shouldn't defend ourselves against an attacking army - after all doing so would make us no better than them. that is how the nasty right-wing wins.
