U.S., China Agree To Pressure Iran On Nukes

The White House says President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao are instructing their diplomats to work on potential sanctions to make clear to Iran the cost of continued nuclear defiance.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of a U.S.-hosted summit on nuclear proliferation Monday.

White House national security aide Jeff Bader sought to find common ground at their hour-long meeting. Bader said the Chinese were "prepared to work with us."

He called it another sign of international unity on the issue.

1. The hypocrisy inherent in such an action is off the charts

And is akin to mafia thugs telling a store owner he'll pay the consequences if he tries to defend himself against their advances.

Given that the US and China have massive nuclear arsenals, I don't see where we have any moral high-ground to tell other nations that they cannot develop a defense against viable threats.

3. We the have high ground because Iran agreed not do so

as a signatory to the Non Proliferation Treaty. There is no is hypocrisy whatsoever in holding Iran accountable.

2. Iran

Iran will get a bomb or a massive pay off. Iran will do what it can to keep Iraq unstable costing us billions. Iran is in the drivers seat now. Any trouble with Iran will cream our economy and that cannot happen now. Question is can Iran handle this standoff without it's own problems? Palin can figure it all out.
