George W. Bush book 'Decision Points' out Nov. 9
Source: Associated Press

The publisher of former President George W. Bush's book "Decision Points" on Sunday set a Nov. 9 release date, unveiled its cover design and announced new details about it.

Bush has said he is not writing a traditional memoir but an account of key decisions in his life. The cover features a photo of then-President Bush alone with his thoughts, standing in the Rose Garden Colonnade, wearing a dark suit and holding a briefing book, his head turned slightly from the camera.

According to Crown Publishers, "Decision Points" will offer "gripping, never-before-heard detail" on such historic events as the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and the 2000 presidential election along with Bush's decision to quit drinking, his relationship with his family and other personal details.

... The book will have a list price of $35. One thousand signed, clothbound copies will be available, priced at $350 each.

45. Actually, in the quiet of the night, I hope his demons visit frequently.
Edited on Mon Apr-26-10 03:39 AM by Raster

I hope the souls of more than a million dead Iraqis come to visit and remind him that Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11--which he knew, and also remind him there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq--which he also knew. I hope those million plus souls tell him that he may have fooled some of the American people with his pseudo-noble rhetoric, but they know the truth: he was a liar and a murderer.

I hope the souls of the near 5,000 American soldiers--kids mostly, just kids--come to visit every night and ask him what great purpose they died for. Was it for greed or was it for vanity? It certainly wasn't to make the United States safer.

I hope the visions of war crimes trials to come haunt George W. Bush* every waking moment of his life. And I hope he comes to fully realize just how much of a patsy he was for "The Machine." I hope he understands that he was just a high-powered name from one of the right families, and even the better that he was a ne'er-do-well with limited capacity for self-appraisal. I hope Bush* understands that he wasn't asked to run for the Presidency of the United States because of his accomplishments or potential. He was asked to run because he was highly manipulatable and without scruples.

And finally, I hope every time he has a quiet moment with "his thoughts," he remembers that he was NEVER fairly and legally elected to the office of President of the United States. I pray that to his dying day Bush* is reminded each and every day that the real winner and the much greater man was Albert Gore, and that for--yet again--his family's connections, he would be just another inconsequential footnote in history.

and may his enablers & supporters be carried along on his wake, to their just reward, as well.

Even the title sucks. But it is descriptive of Bush's shaky understanding of what it means to be president. Some shit would happen, then the flunkies would come in with a few Powerpoints talkin' about what to do about it, and you'd have to make a decision and point to the one you liked best. Decision points--get it?

47. Well the first tough decision was to STEAL the Presidency from the rightful winner.
But as a well-managed sociopath, I'm sure he had no issues with that. I do wonder, now that W has "fulfilled his expectations", have they disbanded the three-woman life management team that wiped his nose and his ass? I know Pickles is still with him, that was part of her "employment agreement" (Wife, marriage vows). But what about Condi ("Mistress") and Karen ("Wetnurse")?

46. So, he's not not writing a traditional memoir but an account of key decisions in his life, huh?
Sample leaked copy:

Chapter 1
Oooooooooo, I get to read my favorite book to some little people who were born smarter than I'll ever be. :bounce:

What? Planes? Horror? Americans crying all over the country? Countries all over the world loving on America and supportin' us?

I think I'll read another 17 minutes while Americans die miserably and painfully, then run and hide on Air Force 1 like the coward I am for 5 more hours, then pose in a few pictures with some firemen, then I'll bomb some innocent children in some furrin' countries. Yeah, that sounds good.

Chapter 2
I woke up this morning. Thankfully, my dog kept my stupid ass from choking to death on that pretzel last night. I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in furrin' countries.

Chapter 3
Ouch! That smarted. My dumb ass can't even ride a bike right. Think they'll notice the big ol' cuts all over my dumb ass face? I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in furrin' countries.

Chapter 4
Shit, there is a fly trying to land on me. Don't do that, Mr. Fly. They'll all know what kind of stinking, rotten, good-for-nothing little shit I really am. Splat. Whew! Glad that's taken care of. I think I'll bomb some innocent children in some furrin' countries.

Chapter 5
Oh shit! Don't tell me I gotta fly down south and pretend I give a shit after I fiddled while NOLA burned? Fuck it. I'll fly to the next state over with more white people in it and pretend to give a shit there instead. After that, I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in some furrin' countries.

Chapter 6
Uncle Dick shot a lawyer in the face today, but he didn't kill him. I'm so proud. My fukkedupdedness is rubbing off on him. I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in some furrin' countries.

Chapter 7
What did you say, Uncle Dick? We stole an assload of money from the American people and they caught on to our scam? Ruh Roh, I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in some furrin' countries.

Chapter 8
What? My poll numbers are really really low? Pfft. I don't care. I bombed a bunch of innocent brown children in some furrin' countries and got away with it. Hehe, I think I'll bomb some more innocent children in some furrin' countries.

Chapter 9
They said I have to move out today. That's all right though. I can still organize Blackwater to go in illegally and bomb some more innocent children in some furrin' countries with or without the power of the Presidency. I'm RICH. I can do whatever the fuck I wanna do and get by with it. Hehe. So long suckers.

THE END

********************************************

I mean...what ELSE could the book POSSIBLY say?

61. So a war criminal and mass murderer is free to publish a book of lies instead of going to prison.
What a messed-up country this is.

70. Wondering: Is He stupid enough to believe that explaining
the whats, whys and hows of His key decisions is going to vindicate His reign somehow? Doubt it, it's probably all about the ten bucks he's gonna earn in royalties.

72. former speech writer helping with "research"
"Since leaving the Oval Office, President Bush has given virtually no interviews or public speeches about his presidency," Crown said in a statement. "Instead, he has spent almost every day writing 'Decision Points,' a strikingly personal and candid account revealing how and why he made the defining decisions in his consequential presidency and personal life."

A publishing industry source familiar with the book said that Bush had completed a first draft and was editing the manuscript on a computer at his office in Dallas. A former White House speech writer, Chris Michel, is helping with research. The source was unsure whether Bush had compared notes with his wife, Laura Bush, whose memoir comes out May 4."

This is what the article states. Bush has been working on this day and night, all by himself, only requiring assistance on research.

80. I've read about at least 3 different sources that are predicting
that Nov 9th is going to be really, really bad for Americans. Most have interpreted that some sort of nuclear catastrophe will happen around that date.

So I wonder if Bush/publisher have chosen that date, knowing about these predictions, or if this book is the fulfillment.

More likely Bush thought turning 9/11 upside down would be funny.

What a prick.
