Laura Bush suspects poison dose
Source: the age

FORMER US first lady Laura Bush has revealed for the first time that she and her husband and several members of their staff may have been poisoned during a visit to Germany for a G8 Summit.

In her new book, Spoken From the Heart, due for release next month, she describes how they all became mysteriously sick, and the then president, George W. Bush, was bedridden for part of the trip.

The Secret Service investigated the possibility they were poisoned, she writes, but doctors could only conclude that they all had contracted a virus. After noting several high-profile poisonings, she wrote, ''we never learnt if any other delegations became ill, or if ours, mysteriously, was the only one''.

yeah, I could see them all getting the same virus, at the same time.

Being wealthy and powerful doesn't mean squat to pathogens.

5. They got a virus so she suspects they were poisoned?
Sounds like an attempt to sell more books.

Her publisher probably told her the book was too boring and she should leave out the bit about family diarrhea in Germany. Her ghost writer figured he could kill two birds with one stone so the diarrhea story got changed into a mystery poisoning.

35. That sounds more likely
A conference I attended a few years ago had an outbreak of a norovirus, and the symptoms sound similar. It's not a pleasant experience, and it can spread pretty easily in a confined area. I've become a handwashing fanatic as a result.

Picking up a bug while traveling is quite common. If Shrub had ever shown any curiosity about the rest of the world before he was president he might have encountered this phenomenon before.

45. Isn't the Norovirus what caused illness on cruise ships?
I seem to remember quite a few outbreaks a few years ago.
It does sound like the same thing.

I've become ill traveling. It happens. Once the dunce and
his likker keeper left their bubble, they got sick. Will
wonders never cease!

She should be ashamed of herself. After the polonium
poisoning of that Russian dude, she should stick a
sock in it.

48. It was intentionally worded that way
First of all when you are interviewing somebody, everybody has different form of diction to their dialog. Some people say words that sound like they are adding a different dialect to it, but it is just how they say the word. The journalist that wrote this story was just trying to be an ass. The same thing happened to a piece written by CBS news on a conversation or interview they had with President Obama, They tried to make it sound like Obama was saying the word "respeck" instead of the word respect. It's just dumb asses in the media.

So, to what purpose would someone poison them without killing them???

You'd think if someone was connected enough to get the poison to them, they'd do it right.

How many pecks on a pickled pecker can a poisoned Pickles peck?

(sorry, couldn't resist)

*on edit--on a more serious note, folks:

I think the most toxic thing Bush and Laura were exposed to in Germany would have been some pragmatic domestic and foreign policy. Like the symptoms from their mysterious illness, the effects do not appear to have had any lasting impact.

for such a case, shouldn't her conspiracy theory either be verified or debunked or cleared up by now? Were the Secret Service derelict in their duty?

Oh wait! Maybe she thinks the Secret Service would be in on the conspiracy!

I wonder what Angela Merkel thinks of how her hospitality is rated by Laura.
