Gov. Jan Brewer Turns to Facebook for Defense of AZ Law (Tom Ridge Criticizes)
Source: ABC News

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, under fire from Democrats and Republicans over the state's tough new anti-immigrant law, has lashed out at her critics on her Facebook page writing that she will "not back down" on the law until the country's borders are secure.

Brewer went on Facebook for her defiant defense as criticism grew along with calls fresh calls for an economic boycott of Arizona.

"On Friday, I signed into law Senate Bill 1070. Since then I have come under fire from President Obama, Mayor Phil Gordon, the liberal east coast media, Al Sharpton and others who want us to back down from securing our borders," Brewer, a Republican, wrote. "Rest assured, we will not back down until our borders are secure."

The latest to criticize Arizona's law is former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, a Republican who once worked in the administration of President George W. Bush.

6. Did any of these morons pass the fucking bar exam? I am not a........
..........lawyer, but I think even a HS grad that passed his/her civics exam would know the odds of this passing constitutional muster is like NEVER. Even the Roberts court will probably strike this down 7-2 or maybe even 9-0.

19. Sadly, bar exams do not purge Republicans of crap or evil, or our Supreme Court decisions
would make a lot more sense than they have lately.

Remember, Alberto Gonzalez passed the bar. So did Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito and Kennedy.

On the other hand, JFK, Jr. failed it two or three times and, while Hillary did pass the Arkansas bar, she failed the D.C. bar.

Who would you rather have sitting on the Court, though?

17. Every Republican knows that, but I never heard it limited to the East Coast before.
She's playing the map card!

Republicans used to castigate the East Coast for its supposed "intellectual elite" and "Ivory Tower Academicians." They so succeeded in smearing the East Coast--for the crime o being smart and/or well-educated, no less--that the Democratic Party has not nominated an East Coaster for the Presidency since JFK/RFK--and look what happened to them.

Oh, and by "knows" I mean "imagines, despite all evidence being that mainstream media are owned and controlled by Republicans."

9. Just like Palin she blames the left and the media but doesn't acknowledge that Jeb Bush, Rubio, and
other Republicans have criticized this law.

I guess that's the benefit of posting on Facebook. You don't have to deal with that pesky Q&A thing.

18. Including Rove and Tancredo. My thought on seeing this thread exactly.

Even when what they say is factually accurate, it's deceitful anyway, if only by intentional omission.

How do you know a Republican is lying?

The correct answer used to be, "You can see their lips moving."

But, things like message boards and Facebook have made a new punch line necessary.

15. Perhaps Brewer's purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others.
Because if she believes, erroneously, that the nations borders' to Mexico are only in Arizona then ... (ah - you get the point.) I kinda doubt that California, New Mexico and (maybe) Texas will decline to follow the ruinously stupid course that Arizona has charted for itself.

Brewer has raised the bar on wingnut stupid. What a fine, fine day it is for idiots to have one champion for the idiot causes still in office now that Palin has quit her job.
